Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Moroccan Routes. These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Moroccan Routes (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a fully registered and licensed transportation destination expert based in Ouarzazate, Morocco, and the traveler(s) booking private expeditions, multi-day tours, or transport services (“you,” “your,” or “guest”).
By submitting a booking deposit or confirming an itinerary with us, you explicitly agree to comply with and be legally bound by these terms.
1. Booking Confirmation & Deposit Policy
-
The Agreement: A private tour booking is only considered legally confirmed once an itinerary has been finalized and a 30% non-refundable deposit has been successfully received by our financial team.
-
Payment Gateways: Deposits must be processed securely via international bank wire transfer to our business bank account or through our designated secure digital payment links.
-
Balance Settlement: The remaining 70% balance of the total tour cost must be settled securely either prior to your departure date via bank wire or in cash (Euros, US Dollars, or Moroccan Dirhams) directly to Mohamed or your assigned driver-guide upon arrival on Day 1.
2. Cancellation, Modifications & Rescheduling
-
Cancellation Notice: If you must cancel your expedition, notice must be sent in writing via email to contact@moroccanroutes.com.
-
Retention Scale:
-
Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to departure: Your 30% deposit is retained, but can be applied as a flexible credit toward a rescheduled journey within 12 months.
-
Cancellations made 15 to 30 days prior to departure: 50% of the total tour price is due.
-
Cancellations made less than 15 days prior to departure: 100% of the total tour price is due, as vehicle allocations and boutique riad bookings are locked in by our team.
-
-
Itinerary Alterations: Because overland travel involves rugged terrain, weather changes, and road conditions, Moroccan Routes reserves the right to alter routes, accommodation choices, or transit schedules to ensure maximum passenger safety. Any alternative arrangements will maintain an equal or higher quality standard.
3. Passenger Responsibilities & Travel Insurance
-
Mandatory Insurance: It is a strict operational condition of booking with Moroccan Routes that every guest secures comprehensive international travel insurance. Your policy must cover trip cancellation, medical emergencies, emergency repatriation, and adventure travel activities (including camel trekking and off-road 4x4 transit).
-
Documentation: Guests are solely responsible for ensuring they possess a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond their travel duration and any necessary entry visas for Morocco (or Mauritania/Senegal for cross-border expeditions).
4. Fleet Safety & Luggage Limits
-
Vehicle Authority: In the interest of safety, passengers must follow all instructions given by our professional driver-guides. Your driver has ultimate authority over vehicle operation, speed, and path selection on rough tracks.
-
Luggage Capacities: To guarantee smooth highway transit and safe off-road 4x4 weight distribution, luggage is strictly capped at one standard suitcase and one small carry-on bag per passenger, unless alternative vehicle arrangements are requested in writing beforehand.
-
Liability Limitations: While our premium vehicles meet strict safety, mechanical, and insurance standards, Moroccan Routes is not liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings, electronics, or cameras during transit.
5. Force Majeure & Local Governance
-
Operational Scope: Moroccan Routes cannot accept liability or pay compensation for delays, cancellations, or damages caused by events of Force Majeure (including natural disasters, extreme desert weather, political unrest, border closures, flight cancellations, or governmental mandates).
-
Legal Jurisdiction: These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco. Any legal disputes or claims arising directly from our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court system in Ouarzazate, Morocco.
